Royal Opera House, Muscat, Oman

The first photo is a view from the grid looking down to the floor and orchestra pit. The second shot is the opposite view, looking up from the pit to the grid. The photos were taken while working with the Deutsch company SBS Buhnentechnik who were installing all the staging machinery.

Edinbourgh Tattoo
The brief in this project was to fabricate all the steel components required to complete the set, and install.




The Banked Track
A roller derby banked track fabricated at Planet Engineering. The video link is to a time-lapse showing the initial build.



Alien Lifter Pod


Three images of the Lifter Pod fabricated for the Ridley Scott film Alien Covenant. Film production was at Fox Studios Australia.

A Collection of Revolving Stages
Three lives of the STC Square Revolve

The two photos of the square revolve above show it during initial tests in the Sydney Theatre Company workshop. It was originally made for the 2001 production of Up For Grabs.

The square revolve revamped for the production of Soul Mates, 2002. Shown here being set up and tested in the Sydney Opera House’s Drama Theatre.

The final form of the square revolve, cut down for the production of Myopia, the opening show of the new Sydney Theatre in 2003, now called the Roslyn Packer Theatre.
Euro Games Revolve
The 80 metre diameter revolving stage for the 2015 Euro Games opening ceremony in Azerbaijan is one of the largest ever. The carriages and art work, a Red Circles production, were fabricated in Johor, Malaysia and then shipped to Azerbaijan for installation in Baku.

2010 Shanghai Expo Revolve
A revolving stage installed into the Australian Pavilion at the Shanghai Expo. Design and production by Harris Movement Engineering (HME).

The YouTube link is to a video showing the revolve during its initial testing.
Touring Revolving Stages

Two examples of touring revolving stages, designed to be easily bumped in and bumped out of different venues. The one above was fabricated for the Australian Opera by HME.
